Phenol Peel

The highest level of chemical peels is the phenol peel. It is roughly the equivalent of a laser resurfacing procedure in depth. It is performed in the outpatient surgery setting and can be painful. Many doctors, including Dr Sukkar, continue to prefer and offer phenol peels over laser. It seems to be more effective for coarse deep wrinkles. Hypopigmentation used to be an unavoidable byproduct of a phenol peel until the last ten years. Modification of the formula has allowed for varying strengths to be mixed by Dr Sukkar during your procedure to individualize the peel for your skin. This newer technique has significantly reduced the hypopigmentation side effect, making this peel even more efficacious and sought after as a skin rejuvenating technique.
