Meet Dr. Ashley Jae Steinberg*
Dr. Ashley J. Steinberg greets all our patients with a warm, outgoing personality and welcoming smile. A board-certified general surgeon and board-eligible plastic surgeon, who specializes in surgical and non-surgical aesthetics, reconstruction, and patient safety, she is dedicated to helping you look and feel your best from the inside out. Her dedication to patient care and advances in the field of plastic surgery have earned Dr. Steinberg many accolades, inclusion in peer-reviewed publications, and professional conference invitations.
After growing up between New Jersey, Florida, and Ontario, Canada, Dr. Steinberg received her undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science with Distinction in Ecology from the University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada. While pursuing her undergraduate studies, she was published for the first time in a peer-reviewed publication. She was repeatedly recognized for her academic achievements and has continued to use her background to fuel her passion for patient safety and care.
Dr. Steinberg earned a Magna Cum Laude Doctor of Medicine Degree from the St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. She returned to Brooklyn, New York, United States, and its Brooklyn Hospital Center to train with their acclaimed surgeons for her general surgery training. During her time in Brooklyn, she was a member of several committees within the Brooklyn Hospital Center, representing the residents.
She also received several awards for her work with patients, including a Hospitality Award for Excellence in Patient Care and a Service Excellence Award. Additionally, she published articles in peer-reviewed journals and began appearing as a presenter at conferences nationwide, sharing her expertise on patient safety, wound treatment, and reconstruction techniques.
Dedicated to ensuring her patients should have superior levels of care, Dr. Steinberg continued her general surgery residency with the University of Nevada’s School of Medicine. There, she had access to the latest generation of robotic surgery equipment and training consoles, as well as the ability to help many patients at trauma centers, private hospitals, VA hospitals, a federal hospital, and other treatment centers.
After her time in New York and Nevada, Dr. Steinberg had gained exceptional skills and training in surgery but had a desire to advance her skills to an even higher level and train as a plastic and reconstructive surgeon. This brought her to Houston Methodist Hospital, where she worked alongside world-renowned surgeons from the greater Houston area’s top eight hospitals, building the warm rapport and relationships that are her trademarks.

More about Dr. Steinberg
When Dr. Steinberg is not helping you look and feel your best, she loves exploring Houston or new cities. (She has a lifelong love of travel!) She also enjoys giving back. She recently completed a humanitarian mission with a healthcare organization that donates surgeries to children with cleft lips and palates; she hopes to make it an annual event.
