Before and After Photos

Procedure

It takes just 45 minutes and delivers results that last for two years on average. If your skin needs a little extra help to look smoother and less dimpled, Cellfina is the perfect option.

The Cellfina procedure is fast and virtually painless. It starts with an injection of local anesthetic to ease discomfort. Next, your Houston Med Spa provider will use a vacuum device to isolate the dimpled skin. They will then insert a fine needle to break apart the connective bands beneath your skin surface. The total procedure time is approximately 45 minutes. The treatment time can vary based on the severity of cellulite as well as the size and number of areas treated.

Cellfina is an FDA-approved treatment for cellulite that works by releasing tension on the tough connective bands within the fatty tissue that causes lumpy skin on your thighs and buttocks that resembles cottage cheese. With a single treatment performed in the comfort of our elegant treatment rooms, Cellfina uses a fine-needle applicator to free the connective bands that contribute to the appearance of cellulite.

Benefits

Cellulite affects more than 90% of women. Even those who exercise regularly and eat a healthy, nutritious diet can still have unsightly cellulite appearing on thighs, buttocks, or other body area. While cellulite may seem to be a minor issue, many women find that improving appearance of cellulite leads to a great boost in self-confidence and an overall improvement in quality of life.

There are many creams and other home remedies that claim to reduce the appearance of cellulite, but these products fail to produce visible results. Cellfina is a simple, one-time procedure that is proven to be effective, and is FDA-cleared. At our MedSpa in Houston Cellfina is a minimally-invasive procedure that is a simple solution to the problem of the unsightly dimples and bumps of cellulite.

This treatment addresses cellulite deposits on the following areas of the body:

  • Upper thighs
  • Inner thighs
  • Outer thighs
  • Buttocks

Ideal Candidate

Cellfina Houston, TX

Women are more likely to have cellulite than men. Cellulite is an extremely common problem that shows up on the hips, thighs, and buttocks after puberty. Aging, hormonal, and weight fluctuations can also cause cellulite to develop. The lumpy, dimpled skin is essentially fat deposits with fibrous connective bands interspersed between them, tethering the skin down.

Any healthy adult who is bothered by cellulite may be considered for Cellfina. However, if you have a history of poor scarring such as keloids, bleeding disorders, or are taking blood-thinning medications, let your Houston Med Spa provider know as these may heighten your risk of side effects.

FDA Cleared Treatment

Cellfina has been extensively tested and is the only cellulite treatment to have received FDA clearance.

Dr. Sukkar has the medical knowledge to treat your cellulite in an effective manner and uses state-of-the-art technology in the process. While many products and procedures claim to reduce the appearance of cellulite, Cellfina is proven to work, and has the highest rate of patient satisfaction.

You can be assured that this treatment will be administered by a skilled medical professional, and that Dr. Sukkar has the education and knowledge to perform the procedure correctly and produce a visible improvement.

Procedure Details

Cellfina does not involve any anesthetic or surgical incisions. Once any problem areas are identified, Dr. Sukkar uses a suction tool to smooth cellulite marring the appearance of the surface of the skin. Next, a needle-sized device will be used to treat the layer of fat beneath the surface of the skin.

Without any scalpel incisions, Dr. Sukkar uses the device to free the bands of tissue that cause the fat to bunch, protrude, and dimple. This technique assures that the results of the procedure are lasting, with the advantage of allowing you to avoid surgery or other more invasive treatment. Because Cellfina is a minimally-invasive procedure, it is the first choice of many patients who are seeking a truly effective treatment for cellulite.

Recovery

You can return to work and light social activities just 24 to 48 hours later. After Cellfina Houston patients may experience tenderness, swelling, bruising, or pinpoint bleeding at the treatment site. Most of these symptoms go away in a few days, although bruising may take up to two weeks to resolve. You may be asked to wear a compression garment to promote a faster recovery.

Results

A single treatment is all that is needed to see results in most cases. You may notice visible smoother skin shortly after your treatment. However, it takes around eight weeks to see the full results of Cellfina. Visit our online gallery to see the incredible before and after Cellfina photos.

FAQ

How much does Cellfina cost in Houston, TX?

Nationally, the average Cellfina cost ranges from $3,500 to $6,500. However, you may pay more or less than the national average. The size of the treatment area, experience of the provider, and geographic location are some of the factors that affect pricing. At The Clinic for Plastic Surgery Med Spa in Houston, our team will work with you to create a personalized treatment plan and provide a full breakdown of costs before your treatment.

Is Cellfina worth it?

In short, yes! In clinical studies, 95 percent of patients who tried Cellfina for cellulite reported continued satisfaction at the two-year mark. In some cases, Cellfina reduces cellulite; In others, it eliminates it entirely.

Does dry brushing for cellulite work?

Dry brushing has not been shown to improve cellulite. While some users claim it helps, far more people are disappointed by the results of dry brushing when it comes to smoothing out dimples and irregularities on the skin surface. At best, dry brushing whisks away dead skin cells and promotes a rosy glow; It is not a promising treatment for cellulite.

Is Cellfina FDA approved?

Cellfina is the first FDA approved cellulite treatment to be scientifically proven to reduce cellulite on the thighs and buttocks.

How does Cellfina work?

Cellfina is a modern take on subcision, which is a time-tested method of improving scars and skin irregularities caused by connective bands in the skin tethering them down. By releasing the tension on these bands, subscision frees the overlying skin, so it appears notably smoother. Dermatologists have used subcision for decades with excellent results. Cellfina’s technology draws on the concept of subscision, using a needled device to destroy the connective bands that contribute to the appearance of cellulite.

Is Cellfina permanent?

To date, there is no way to get rid of cellulite permanently without surgery. However, the results from Cellfina can last two years or more, making it one of the longest lasting nonsurgical treatments for cellulite.

Will massage get rid of cellulite?

Massage is thought to temporarily minimize the appearance of cellulite by stimulating lymph drainage and circulation. However, the vast majority of people will not see radical improvement from massage alone. A medically cleared cellulite treatment such as Cellfina is a far better way to remove Cellulite as it breaks apart the connective bands that tether the dimpled skin down.

Will cellfina reduce the appearanceof my cellulite forever?

While the results are long-lasting, typically an average of three years, far longer than many comparable procedures, as the years pass, your skin could once again begin to show dimples, but you can have another treatment when that occurs – typically in about three years.

How extensive is the procedure?

Cellfina does not involve any skin incisions, and only requires a topical numbing cream prior to treatment, rather than the need for anesthetic. The procedure can be performed in Dr. Sukkar’s inviting, comfortable clinic in Houston, as an outpatient procedure requiring only about an hour of your time.

The surface of the skin will be smoothed with a special suction device, and a tool unique to the Cellfina system will be used to sever the collagen bands that cause the fat to protrude in dimples, lumps, and bumps. In total, the treatment generally takes less than one hour, and is easy to tolerate.

What can I expect during my recovery?

Because Cellfina is a minimally-invasive procedure, you can expect your recovery to last as little as 24 hours. You may experience some discomfort or soreness, but you should be able to perform your daily tasks.

Will I see immediate results?

There may be some redness and sensitivity upon completion of the treatment, but the results of your procedure become visible after about three days.
