Procedure

Radiesse is an FDA-cleared dermal filler that minimizes wrinkles and restores volume to key areas of the face and hands for a more youthful look.

Most people are familiar with hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane, but Radiesse works differently. Formulated with calcium microsphere technology (calcium hydroxylapatite), it has an instant plumping effect and helps your skin create an abundance of collagen for a continuously youthful result over time. It is one of the longest-lasting facial fillers on the market today, allowing you to look fresh and revitalized for up to 18 months on average.

Benefits

Upon deciding to have Radiesse Houston patients can receive treatment the same day. Radiesse is loved the world over because it is safe, convenient, and highly effective. Some of the benefits of Radiesse include:

  • Is non-surgical
  • Is FDA-approved
  • Has no downtime
  • Builds new collagen in the skin
  • Provides an instant volumizing effect
  • Delivers continuous improvement over 12 weeks
  • Lasts longer than Restylane and Juvederm (up to 18 months)
  • Comprised of a thick formula that won’t unintentionally migrate to other areas

Your journey toward youthful skin starts with a consultation in one of our six elegant treatment rooms. Together with our elite team of injectors, you will discuss your individual concerns and cosmetic goals.

Learn more about how Radiesse can help you turn back time. Radiesse effectively treats moderate to severe nasolabial folds, marionette lines, hollow temples, a poorly defined chin or jawline, sunken cheeks, and can even improve aging hands and décolletage.

In some cases, the hyperdilute form of Radiesse can even be used for non-surgical buttock augmentation. However, Radiesse is not suitable for thin-skinned areas such as the lips or under the eyes. If you’re interested in enhancing your lips or tear troughs, we offer a full suite of hyaluronic acid fillers from top brands such as Juvederm and Restylane, in addition to Sculptra and Radiesse in Houston.

Ideal Candidate

See what Radiesse can do you at our Houston Med Spa. Anyone who wants to accentuate their facial features or reduce wrinkles for up to a year and a half may consider Radiesse. However, there are some situations when Radiesse is not appropriate. For example, women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or anyone who has a known bleeding disorder may not be a good candidate.

Procedure Details

Our Houston Radiesse treatments take just a few minutes to perform. First, our injection specialist will cleanse your skin to prepare for injection. They may apply a numbing cream or ice upon request. Then, they will introduce a fine needle or cannula into your skin to apply Radiesse. The proprietary formula contains lidocaine, a liquid numbing agent, so the injections are minimally painful. They will use one or more syringes depending on how many areas you wish to treat. Finally, they will sculpt and massage the filler into place.

Long Lasting Results

The results of a Radiesse treatment are immediate. Radiesse dermal filler typically lasts a year or more, longer than the former leading filler, saving our Houston patients time and money. Since results may vary, be sure to discuss your expectations with your experienced Houston Radiesse® provider.

Safe & Effective

Radiesse is made of unique calcium-based microspheres that are suspended in a natural gel that is injected into the skin through a simple, safe and minimally invasive procedure.

Hundreds of thousands of patients have experienced Radiesse and more than 4,000 physicians worldwide have been trained to provide Radiesse treatments. Through years of clinical studies and independent research, Radiesse has proven to be safe and effective. With Radiesse, you get safe, FDA Approved, clinically tested reliability.

Recovery

You can get back to most activities right away.

Radiesse has no downtime. You are welcome to relax in our state-of-the-art spa areas, complete with luxurious amenities, until you feel ready to get back to your day. Your skin may feel tender or look slightly swollen, but this should only last a few minutes to hours.

Bruising is rare, but may occur even with proper injection technique. You can wear makeup the next day. Avoid blood-thinning medications, alcohol, exercise, sauna use, and Vitamin E for 24 hours.

Results

Radiesse instantly smooths wrinkles and adds youthful volume to your skin. Over the next twelve weeks, it builds new collagen for continuous improvement over time. You can expect your Radiesse results to last for approximately 18 months on average, keeping your skin firm, wrinkle-free, and supple for a long time to come. As the filler wears off, come back to TCPS Med Spa for a maintenance visit.

FAQ

will it hurt?

The injection process is minimally painful. To ensure you feel comfortable during your Radiesse treatment, your injection specialist at TCPS Med Spa may apply ice or numbing cream upon request. Our providers are highly trained in proper injection techniques to minimize discomfort, so you can look flawless without the pain.

are there any risks?

Clinical studies show Radiesse has a low risk of serious side effects with proper injection. Our highly trained injectors at The Clinic for Plastic Surgery Med Spa, led by board-certified Houston plastic surgeon, Dr. Sam Sukkar, complete rigorous training to ensure they inject the filler precisely into the target area using best-in-class techniques. One of the rarest side effects is cellulitis, a bacterial skin infection that occurs in about two percent of people who have fillers. Our injectors can avoid this side effect by carefully swabbing your skin with alcohol prior to injection. At TCPS Med Spa, we take your safety seriously by taking all the necessary precautions.

is it possible to dissolve radiesse?

Radiesse dissolves gradually in about 18 months; however, HA fillers generally last up to 12 months, depending on the product. Only HA fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane can be dissolved sooner with a product called hyaluronidase. Radiesse, on the other hand, can’t be reversed. If this is your first time trying dermal fillers, you may want to try HA fillers initially to get an idea of how the longer-lasting results of Radiesse might look on you before committing to the treatment.

what fillers are similar to radiesse?

We also offer Sculptra, one of the longest-lasting dermal fillers on the market. Like Radiesse, it restores facial volume to smooth wrinkles and fill hollow areas. It also stimulates new collagen growth like Radiesse. Sculptra is formulated differently. It contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), while Radiesse contains calcium hydroxylapatite. Your cosmetic injector at TCPS Med Spa can tell you about the differences between Radiesse and Sculptra, as well as other dermal fillers, during your consultation. Together, they will match you with the best product for your particular aging concerns.
