What issues can Juvederm treat?
Juvederm leverages hyaluronic acid to very effectively plump and volumize aging skin. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that naturally occurs in the body, and helps to hydrate your skin. As you age, your body loses some of its hyaluronic acid, causing the skin to lose volume and gain fine lines and wrinkles. When this occurs, Juvederm can replace the hyaluronic acid your skin has lost, restoring youthful volume where you need it most.
With that said, Juvederm can be used to treat signs of aging and cosmetic imperfections anywhere on the face, and it is extremely effective at:
- Eliminating wrinkles around the mouth
- Smoothing nasolabial folds
- Improving the appearance of forehead creases
- Filling in deep acne scars
- Elevating the cheeks and restoring lost volume
- Sculpting full, voluminous and natural-looking lips
Juvederm is an incredible, next-generation dermal filler that can transform your facial appearance—smoothing wrinkles, sculpting your features, restoring facial volume and more. In this way, the filler can take years off your appearance while giving you the vibrant and wrinkle-free expression you deserve.
An overview of
Your Juvederm injections will be performed in the comfort of Dr. Sukkar’s Houston office. To begin, an aesthetician will examine your face to determine the severity of your wrinkles and folds, as well as to gain a deeper understanding of the results you’d like to achieve. He will then apply a special cream to numb your face and ensure you’re comfortable throughout your appointment.
From there, an aesthetician will place the Juvederm gel in thoughtful areas on your face to restore lost volume, smooth unsightly wrinkles and sculpt enhanced facial features. Once the filler has been placed, he will gently massage the area to ensure a flawless final result. You can expect the entire treatment to take about 30 minutes to an hour, at which point you’ll be free to leave the office and resume your normal daily routine.
In terms of results, you will see an immediate improvement in the treatment area right after your appointment. Although you’ll undoubtedly be satisfied with your appearance after just one treatment, many of our Houston patients require more than one session to achieve their ideal results. You can expect your smooth and youthful new appearance to endure for up to twelve months, at which point you may require a touch-up treatment to maintain your new look.
As a gentle and non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatment, there is virtually no downtime associated with your Juvederm injections. However, you should avoid strenuous exercise, alcoholic beverages and exposure to excessive sun or heat for at least 24 hours.
Immediately after your appointment, you can expect to experience some minor redness, pain, firmness, swelling and bumps in the area. However, these effects will be very mild and should clear up within one week. If you experience swelling near the injection site, you’ll be advised to apply ice packs regularly to minimize these effects.
