Mommy Makeover Mont Belvieu, TX

Pregnancy changes the body in many ways. In Mont Belvieu, where the warm weather means lighter clothing most of the year, these changes can affect how you dress and feel. While diet and exercise help with overall health, they cannot tighten loose abdominal skin, fix separated muscles, or restore lost breast tissue. A Mommy Makeover is a surgical solution designed to address these specific changes.

At The Clinic for Plastic Surgery, located a short drive away in Clear Lake, Dr. Sam Sukkar and our team take a careful, precise approach to every procedure. Our goal is to restore your core strength and natural shape, so you leave with a balanced and stable figure.

What is a Mommy Makeover?

A Mommy Makeover is a personalized set of surgeries that help correct the physical changes caused by pregnancy and breastfeeding. This usually includes removing loose abdominal skin, repairing separated abdominal muscles (diastasis recti), and restoring breast volume and position.

At our Houston-area facility, we perform these combined procedures with strict safety measures in place. We customize the order of surgeries based on your unique needs and body structure.

What procedures are included in a Mommy Makeover?

We don’t use a one-size-fits-all approach. Your surgical plan is based on how your body changed during pregnancy. We focus on two main areas: the breasts and the abdomen.

Breast Restoration Options

Breastfeeding and changes in weight can stretch the Cooper's ligaments and reduce breast tissue. We offer three main ways to address these issues:

Breast Augmentation: We use MENTOR® Breast Implants to replace lost volume and fill out the upper pole of the breast.

Breast Lift (Mastopexy): We remove excess skin and reposition the nipple higher on the chest wall.

Augmentation with Lift: We combine implants for volume with a lift for position. This is the most common choice for post-pregnancy patients.

Breast Reduction: For women whose breasts remain disproportionately large and heavy after pregnancy, we remove dense tissue to relieve neck and back strain.

Abdominal Contouring Options

During pregnancy, the abdominal wall experiences the most physical stress.

Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty): We remove the apron of loose skin and surgically suture the separated abdominal muscles back together. This flattens the stomach and restores core stability.

Liposuction: We often use VASER or PowerX liposuction to remove stubborn fat from the sides and back. This helps your flatter abdomen blend smoothly into your waist.

What are the benefits of this combined surgery?

Having these procedures done together offers major improvements. Your core is repaired and tissues are repositioned, which can make a real difference in your daily life.

  • Single Recovery Period: You consolidate your downtime. You heal from both the breast and body procedures simultaneously.
  • Restored Core Function: Repairing diastasis recti often alleviates lower back pain and improves posture.
  • Anatomical Harmony: Addressing the chest and the abdomen at the same time ensures your upper and lower body proportions match.
  • You’ll be able to wear a fitted dress or swimwear without having to adjust the fabric to hide a belly bulge or an unsupported chest.

Who is a good candidate for a Mommy Makeover?

This is a major surgery, so you need to be in good overall health.

You may be a good candidate if…

  • You are at a stable, maintainable weight.
  • You are at least six months postpartum and have completely stopped breastfeeding for three to six months.
  • You have a strong support system at home to help with childcare during the initial recovery phase.
  • You are a non-smoker.

We may not be able to perform surgery if…

  • You are actively planning future pregnancies. Additional pregnancies will stretch the repaired muscles and skin, reversing the surgical work.
  • Your Body Mass Index (BMI) is above our safety limit. A high BMI increases the risk of problems with anesthesia and healing.
  • You use nicotine. You need to stop all nicotine and vaping products at least four weeks before surgery. If nicotine is found in your system, we will have to cancel the operation.

How should I prepare for my surgery?

  1. Medical Clearance: You must complete all requested lab panels and physical exams to secure surgical clearance.
  2. Medication Management: Stop taking any blood-thinning medications, NSAIDs, and certain herbal supplements two weeks before your surgery date.
  3. Home Recovery Station: Set up a recovery area on the first floor of your home. Include extra pillows to keep your upper body and knees elevated.
  4. Childcare Logistics: You won’t be able to lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk, including your children, for several weeks. Make sure you have full-time help for at least the first two weeks.
  5. Transportation: A responsible adult must drive you from our Clear Lake clinic back to Mont Belvieu and monitor you for the first 24 to 48 hours.
Dr. Sam Sukkar

The Surgical Experience

Dr. Sukkar performs this combined surgery at our AAAASF-certified center using general anesthesia. We use advanced pain management techniques to keep you as comfortable as possible.

  1. Incision Placement: Dr. Sukkar places the abdominal incision low on the pubic line so it hides beneath standard underwear. Breast incisions depend on the degree of lift required.
  2. Tissue Modification: We start with the planned breast procedure, then move on to repairing the abdominal muscles and removing extra skin.
  3. Closure and Compression: We close the incisions in layers to help the scars heal better. When you wake up, you’ll be wearing a special medical compression garment.

When you wake up, you’ll feel tightness in your midsection, similar to a strong muscle cramp. Your chest may also feel heavy and under pressure.

Recovery from a Mommy Makeover

Recovering from surgery on both the breasts and abdomen takes patience and following instructions closely.

Social downtime

Most patients in Mont Belvieu need 10 to 14 days off from work and social activities. During the first week, you’ll walk slightly hunched over to protect your abdominal repair.

Physical downtime

You should avoid heavy lifting, twisting, and exercises that use your core for 6 to 8 weeks.

Recovery timeline

  • Days 1–5: This is the toughest part of recovery. You’ll need pain medication and help getting out of bed.
  • Week 2: Drains (if used) are typically removed. You will begin to stand up straighter.
  • Week 6: You are cleared for light cardiovascular activity. Swelling begins to noticeably dissipate.

Aftercare tips

Take your time with healing. Wear your compression garments as directed, since they help control swelling and support your healing muscles.

When will I see the final results?

You’ll see changes right away, loose skin is gone and breast volume is restored. However, swelling after surgery will hide your final shape for a while.

By week six, your clothes will start to fit differently. It takes time for tissues to soften and settle. Breast implants will gradually move into place, and swelling in your abdomen will go down over three to six months.

Scars and Healing

A Mommy Makeover will leave visible scars. The abdominal scar is a horizontal line across the lower pelvis. Breast scars can range from a small circle around the areola to an anchor shape, depending on the lift needed.

Dr. Sukkar uses careful techniques to help scars heal as flat, thin lines. Scars will look red and raised at first, but they usually fade to a pale silver over a year. We offer complete scar care to help you get the best results.

Why choose The Clinic for Plastic Surgery?

Combining abdominal and breast surgery requires careful attention to your safety. The amount of time under anesthesia is very important. In our practice, safety always comes first. If you need a complex reconstruction of both areas, we may split the surgeries into two separate procedures instead of keeping you under anesthesia for too long. We never compromise on safety. We check your tissue, monitor your health, and create a surgical plan that gives you the best results with the lowest risk.

Frequently Asked Questions

The total cost depends on which procedures you choose. The price covers the facility fee, anesthesia, breast implants (if needed), and Dr. Sukkar’s surgical fee. We’ll give you a detailed quote during your private consultation based on your needs.

It is physically possible to have more children after surgery, but we strongly recommend against it. Another pregnancy will stretch the repaired muscles and skin, undoing the results. It’s best to wait until you’re done having children before scheduling this procedure.

Removing extra skin and repairing muscles are permanent changes. However, your body will still age naturally. Keeping a stable weight and healthy habits is the best way to maintain your results.

You can start light, brisk walking in the first few weeks. High-impact exercise and core workouts should wait until our team clears you, usually around 6 to 8 weeks after surgery.

In many cases, yes. Surgical drains help prevent fluid from building up under the skin, which is important for a flat abdomen and good healing. They’re usually removed within the first week or two during a follow-up visit at our clinic.
